Travis Keller

Travis Keller is from Washington DC. While a teenager, he apprenticed as a cabinetmaker before moving on to designing and building bars and restaurants in Adams Morgan (1980’s-1990s). He learned to paint murals in those same bars from fellow artists. Moving from oils to Photoshop in 1997, he started working on flyers and ads for events at the establishments for which he tended bar. In the early 2000s he began building sets for TV and local theaters. He learned to create drama through scene structure and lighting -- both of which he uses extensively in his art. He is a member of the Society of Children's Book Writers and illustrators and he continues to use 3D modeling (with Zbrush and Photoshop) for his illustrated children's books and stories. His down time is spent sculpting elaborate sand castles and snow sculptures-- only to watch his kids destroy them as soon as they're done.
