Illustration After Dark

Similar to the Thursday morning Illustration: Independent Study/Studio class, this class is for those students who’ve taken a full spate of illustration courses but are still looking for an independent study or studio option allowing them to work on their own pieces or outside illustration assignments. Unlike the Thursday class, this class will be in the evening (and, hopefully more accessible) and strictly online, and presented in a synchronous format. Greg Houston will moderate conversations about illustration and encourage students to discuss their experiences, ask questions, and talk about their individual projects. Over the 4 weeks we’ll be critiquing work done by the students in and/or out of class and, for those who are interested,assignments will be given and critiqued.
An ideal option for those folks who are interested in creating their own work but who’d like feedback on their pieces, Illustration: After Dark offers an opportunity for students and illustrators to enjoy an environment in which they are welcome to work on their own projects—whether that means building their portfolios, developing new styles, working on homework from other schools, working on professional jobs, or just talking illustration. And a working illustrator and instructor will be available to give advice or individual prompts if requested.
As with all our classes, Illustration: After Dark will provide a fun, provocative, challenging, supportive environment for students and illustrators to continue to learn and evolve.
